TAKES

Fineart Inkjet Prints on Hahnemühle Photorag, size 150 x110 cm

Takes is a work in progress which started more than 10 years ago. The concept was to find single indivuduals who determinedly follow a purpose, or aim at something in the solitude of a landscape. The name TAKES derives from the actual process in which is the photographer taking (out) a moment in time where man and land really connect in solitude. The moment is not staged and each protagonist is completely unaware of the photographers presence. Therefore, his connection to space and his focus remain seemingly undisturbed. There is no pose, no meaning no strain or striving in his “isness”. The unanounced artist is monitoring this intimacy. Taking up her stance on concentrated action she extracts the most intense momentum of this action. Later, she will take another single largeformat camera shot of the single landscape. The artists next step lies in melting those two components together digitally, and so first concentrate and then and resurrect the moment. Now sculpted, now purged, the image stays an everlasting imprint of coincidental encounter of man, space, action and observer….
